Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use this website — including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or reduced motion.

Our target

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is the standard the site is being built against, not a claim that every page already passes.

What this build includes

  • Semantic headings and landmarks, with a skip-to-content link
  • Visible keyboard focus on every interactive element
  • Text and controls that can be resized without loss of content
  • Colour contrast checked against WCAG AA thresholds
  • Respect for the operating system's reduced-motion setting
  • Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images
  • No reliance on colour alone to convey information

Known limitations

  • The appointment form is a disabled demonstration in this prototype. Its final accessible behaviour will be re-tested before launch.
  • A third-party chat widget is not included in this build. If one is added, it must be keyboard operable and must not trap focus.
  • Seasonal imagery may change; any new imagery is checked for contrast and given a text alternative.
